ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Welcome to another episode of Health Facts, powered by PressureMD®Academy!
You might have heard about Hantavirus recently and asked yourself: Is this a new disease? Can I catch it easily? How do I protect my family? Today, host Dr. Christopher Brown, a board-certified nephrologist and lifestyle medicine physician, explains the science in plain language.
While Hantavirus is rare, it can carry a 30% to 40% mortality rate if severe lung or kidney issues develop. Dr. Brown connects the dots between environmental health, immune resilience, and chronic conditions like hypertension and kidney disease, proving that prevention truly is our best medicine.

HOW TO CLEAN A RODENT-INFESTED AREA SAFELY (Dr. Brown's Tips):
- Do NOT sweep or vacuum droppings immediately (this stirs virus particles into the air).
- Open doors and windows to let the area air out for at least 30 minutes.
- Wear gloves and spray the area thoroughly with a disinfectant or bleach solution.
- Wipe the area carefully with paper towels and dispose of them safely.
