Arm cuff vs. Wrist cuff: Which one is actually accurate?

If you're tracking your blood pressure at home, the upper-arm cuff is usually your best bet. It sits right at heart level and gives a much more reliable reading.

Wrist cuffs might seem easier, but they are incredibly sensitive to body position. Move your wrist just a little too high or too low, and your numbers will be completely wrong!

In fact, the American Heart Association does not recommend wrist monitors for routine use.

The one exception? If a proper upper-arm cuff doesn't fit you, a wrist cuff is better than nothing, just make sure to clear it with your doctor and nail the technique!

Which one do you use at home? Let me know in the comments!
